The map collection within the local studies section consists mainly of ordnance survey maps dating from the 1880s onwards. They vary in scale from 1 inch to the mile to 1:1250 (around 50 inches to the mile) and cover the modern urban area of Milton Keynes. A few historic hand drawn maps of the older parishes within the 'designated area' of Milton Keynes can be viewed on request.

Parish Registers on Microfilm: The local studies and family history department at Central Library holds most of the parish registers and Bishops' Transcripts for Buckinghamshire on microfilm.
